He was a awesome classmate. I want to share a story that I have told Danny in the past and to others bc it is a great story. This goes back to when we all were in 9 th grade. I went to Eastern before Northwood and we were playing Sligo in soccer. Danny played for Sligo. He and I competed again each other in a well fought game. I said then, thank god I'm going to NorthwoodHS bc I want to play with him. Then when I went to NHS and he wasn't playing soccer but football. I asked him why, and Danny said bc he really didn't like playing it. I thought that was amazing bc he was so good. Danny showed that he was great at whatever he played(Football-basketball-wrestling-track). We always use to joke about it later when we saw each other. It is something that I have and will always remember about Danny Miller. He will be missed.

A few other friends and I hung out with John during high school, but completely lost touch after graduation (as is so often the case). He was always ready for a laugh, quick with a joke and didn't have a mean bone in his body. He was usually the calm and sensible one in the group.

I remember one trip to OC with John that will always make me smile. If you knew John's mother, you knew that she was a very, I mean VERY, careful and slow driver. From Four Corners to OC took five hours instead of three. It drove John nuts and every ten minutes he would say "Jeez mom, can't you drive any faster?'. Every ten minutes for five hours...

Was glad to see John at the last reunion and we got a few minutes to catch up. Should have been more.

Rest in Peace, John.

Obituary

Respected, L.A.-based video game voice casting director Brigitte Burdine, who worked on games including World of Warcraft and God of War II, was killed in a hit-and-run accident early yesterday morning. She was 48.

Burdine was hit by by a car while crossing the intersection of Culver Boulevard and Pershing Drive at about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to police and outlets including the Los Angeles Weekly. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she died later that morning.

Police are seeking the owner of a dark-colored sedan, possibly with front-end damage. Anyone with potential information should contact the LAPD's West Traffic Division detectives at 213-473-0234.

Working in the field since 1989, Burdine ran the Brigitte Burdine Casting Agency, which had just this week been renamed Coherent Crow. She also worked as an actress, director and producer for many film and television projects.

Her video game credits include vocal casting work for dozens of games from publishers including EA, Activision, Namco, Blizzard, Sony, Microsoft, Capcom, Warner Bros. and more. Highlights include the Killzone and Spider-Man game series, SOCOM 3, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe and ModNation Racers.

Burdine was known to share her knowledge of the industry through summits and workshops with audio leads and voice over actors around the industry, encouraging new talent rising through the ranks.

"Brigitte was the only voice director I ever worked with who left her emotions at the front door," said Mark Morrison, Regional Sales Director for Unity Technologies, who worked with Burdine on multiple projects, in an email message to Gamasutra. "She never had an ego and exemplified humility and all the fun and passion that the video game space admires. She was a quiet giant who reveled in problem solving and making clients 150% happy."

Roger Shrader

- - February 28th, 1980

Roger A. Schrader, a member of the class of 1980, died in a tragic automobile accident on the morning of February 28, 1980. Classmates and friends were stunned to hear of the news of Roger's death and critical injury of Roger's brother, Michael. A moment of silence sent prayers and thoughts to Michael and to Roger's friends and family.

Principal Bob Mullis said, "Roger was an excellent kid. He had never been in any trouble whatsoever. He was well-respected. He was just a good, quiet, all-around kid."

In a presentation concerning his Easter trip to Russia, Roger Shrader proclaimed, "I am proud to be an American. You do not understand what freedom is until you do not have the liberties that Americans take for granted."

Indeed, the thoughts and feelings of Roger's friends and family will be with him always.  - 1980 Arrowhead

Image I remember that day that Roger had that terrible accident.  I offered to give Roger a ride home that day because he normally did not drive to school.  We had 3rd period together and then we would go to work.  I spoke to him 15 minutes before I heard the ambulance.  I will never forget when I heard on the radio on my way to work that he had passed away in an accident.  I wish I would have given him a ride.  He might have still been alive today.

He was a very nice guy.

From Cheryl Childers on July 27th, 2010
Roger said goodbye to me when he left school  He promised he would bring his school picture "tomorrow."  Later in class, we heard the sirens, having no idea they were rushing to the accident.

At the funeral, his mother told me the picture was on his dresser and I should come by sometime and get it.

I never did.  I was young and afraid of her grief and afraid of saying the wrong thing.

I wish I had that picture now.  Roger was kind and funny and always so nice to me.  I think of him every time I hear "Baker Street"

I miss you!
